Who is responsible

Tallyrocketfjll Design Media Ltd, 16 Fitzwilliam Street Upper, Dublin 2, D02 Y221, Ireland, CRO 812946, is responsible for personal data it receives through the operation of this editorial website and reader correspondence. Contact [email protected] for privacy enquiries.

Drafts stay in your browser

The contact tool generates a plain-text preview using the details you enter. Its code does not submit the draft to a server, store it in localStorage or email it. Copy enquiry writes the draft to your device clipboard if your browser permits it. Download .txt creates a local text file. Clipboard history, device backups, browser autofill and downloaded files are controlled by your device and browser settings.

If you send the text using your email application, we receive the email address, name, message and any information you choose to include. Do not send sensitive personal data, third-party customer records or confidential material unless specifically necessary and agreed.

Website delivery and preferences

Loading a website necessarily sends technical request information to its hosting infrastructure, including an IP address, requested resource and browser-related headers. Hosting and security providers may process access logs to deliver the site, investigate faults and protect against abuse. Such processing is limited to legitimate operational and security purposes.

The supplied site code includes no analytics, advertising pixels, remote fonts or embedded social widgets. A preference you choose on the Cookies page is stored locally in your browser. It is not combined with your enquiry draft. See the cookie notice for the storage key and controls.

Purposes and legal bases

We use reader correspondence to answer questions, assess corrections and manage editorial requests. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating an informative website and responding to people who contact us, balanced against their rights. Where processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, that obligation is the legal basis. Optional tracking, if introduced, would require appropriate information and consent before activation where legally required.

We do not sell reader correspondence or use the enquiry tool to build advertising profiles. We do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects solely by automated processing.

Recipients, transfers and retention

Access is limited to people who need the information for the stated purposes and service providers supporting hosting, security or email. Information may also be disclosed where legally required. If a provider processes personal data outside the European Economic Area, applicable transfer safeguards must be used where required, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.

Routine reader correspondence is normally retained for up to 12 months after the matter closes, unless a longer period is needed for an ongoing issue, legal obligation or the establishment or defence of claims. Relevant editorial corrections may be retained without unnecessary personal details. Technical logs should be retained only for the operational or security period needed.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal data and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing depends on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. We may need proportionate information to verify a request and normally respond within one month, subject to lawful extensions.

Contact us first if you wish, but you may complain directly to the Irish Data Protection Commission or your relevant supervisory authority. The website is written for professional and general-interest readers and is not directed at children. If you believe a child has sent personal information unnecessarily, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

Changes to this notice

We will update this page when the site’s data practices change materially. Review the effective date when returning. External websites linked from articles have their own privacy practices.
